Boston Bruins Trades

The Bruins Trade Activity Since 2004-05

Pat Maroon and Andrew Peeke Acquired by Bruins

The Boston Bruins made a pair of minor trades on March 8, 2024, acquiring forward Pat Maroon and defenseman Andrew Peeke from the Calgary Flames. Boston sent minor league defenseman Jeremy Davies to Calgary to complete the deal.

Maroon, 35, is a three-time Stanley Cup champion, having won with the St. Louis Blues in 2019 and the Tampa Bay Lightning in 2020 and 2021. He is a physical presence who can provide some grit and leadership to the Bruins' bottom-six forward group.

Peeke, 25, is a right-handed defenseman who has played 103 NHL games over the past three seasons with the Columbus Blue Jackets and Flames. He is a physical, stay-at-home defenseman who can block shots and make strong defensive plays.

Depth Added to the Bruins' Blue Line

The Bruins added some depth to their blue line by acquiring defenseman Andrew Peeke from the Calgary Flames on March 8, 2024. Boston sent minor league defenseman Jeremy Davies to Calgary to complete the deal.

Peeke, 25, is a right-handed defenseman who has played 103 NHL games over the past three seasons with the Columbus Blue Jackets and Flames. He is a physical, stay-at-home defenseman who can block shots and make strong defensive plays.

The addition of Peeke gives the Bruins some more depth on the right side of their defense, behind Charlie McAvoy and Brandon Carlo. He can also play on the left side if needed, which gives the Bruins some flexibility.
